How Social Networking has Transformed
In the 1970's social networking began as a way to send a simple message through Bulletin Board System, with increased technology over the years it has expanded fully. Bulletin Board was the first ways to transfer messages to others through the internet. In 1980 GEnie was created. This was an online site that individuals could play games while chatting. Overtime, in the 1990's came AOL (an online system allowing emails to be sent over the web), to craigslist (posting rentals, for sale items etc). Not until the early 2000s did Myspace and LinkedIn become popular to the younger adult generation. Facebook eventually was created in 2004 followed by twitter in 2006. In the beginning, not many people were interested in creating profiles to share personal information; however, as time has gone on, more and more individuals are now linked through the web. Social Media has revolutionized communication. It is now easier to contact a friend, coworker, or family member via web. Instantly they can recieve this through their phone or on the other side of the world. What was created recently? In 2011-2012 Google+ made its name as a social network.
